Bug Description

I have 2 laptops with Qiana installed. Previously I had Nadia on both, then Trusty now Qiana. They have an identical problem.

Whenever I try to copy files to a USB flash drive, in FAT32, the files start copyingvery fast, then get stuck at 99%, 0 sec remaining. It stays there forever. If i forcefully eject the medium or unmount it or just unplug it, it says operation not completed and no files show up. I checked permissions are fine, the USB hard drives work without a hitch and when I had Trusty, it worked on nautilus. Also worked on Nadia 64 bit Cinnamon.

I tried formatting and recreating partition on GParted, no avail. Also tried formatting to NTFS, file copying is very slow and completed but files do not show up on any other computer.

1) The version and edition of Linux Mint you are using - Qiana 17.1 64 bit Cinnamon
2) What you did for the problem to happen, and how to reproduce it - reformat drive, recreate partition, try same with gparted, tried multiple flash drives of various capacity and brands, same issue
3) What happened - files cannot be copies to flash drive, stays stuck on 99% completed, 0 seconds remaining. (WORKS ON ALL USB HARD DRIVES WITH IDENTICAL PERMISSIONS, ONLY FLASH DRIVES IMPACTED) When formatted as NTFS instead of FAT32, copying completes very slowly and files do not show up on any other computer
4) What you expected to happen instead - Files to copy in reasonable time and show up on other computers
5) If the problem happened once, sometimes, or always - Always
