Repainting issue when no compositing

I use NVIDIA proprietary driver and Linux Mint 17 (Qiana) and I have a bug with repainting of minimized OpenGL windows when the compositor manager is DISABLED.

When I minimize an application that uses OpenGL, it keeps on displaying the content on the screen.

I've recorded a video to show the bug.

If the compositing is ENABLED, I don't have this bug (but I got the tearing/vsync issue with videos).

I think this thread on NVIDIA forums is the same as mine.

It seems to be fixed in NVIDIA driver 331.89.

Any ways to request for Ubuntu repo maintainer to update the "nvidia-331" package ?
