Bug Description

I´ve just upgrade (made complete new installation) to Linux Mint 17 Mate from Mint 16...
And I have the battery status problem...
When the AC is plugged It still show one specific number (like it is not recharge battery)
When remove the AC power cord and netbook is working with battery only, battery status is comming slowly down but it has no good indication of status...
This is my specific problem...
With Mint 16 it was ok :)
Thank You for help

Nearly same problem here: I did a clean installation of Mint 17 Cinnamon and since about 3 days the battery percentage is at 82%.
If I plug/unplug AC power only charge icon appear/disappear, but percentage remains at 82%.

Thanks

Not sure what caused this, or why, but a temporary fix to get your battery working again, is to recalibrate it. I booted into mints read only recovery mode, unplugged the ac cord, and let it completely discharge till the laptop powered off. Then booted back up, and charged till 100 percent. Worked for me as I was stuck on 60 percent.

Hi j tidwell, thanks for the tip.
I tryed what you suggest, but battery remains at 85%. In the last period the percentage reached 100%, but the charging led remains turned on continuosly, like that it isn't never completely charged. I'm afraid that if I continue using Mint 17 as is I will kill the battery.
I think that it is a problem of Mint 17 power management, because with Mint 16 and Win 7 there isn't any problem.
I will try to reinstall Mint 17 and then, if it doesn't work, I will change OS.

Thanks again

Yes since then my laptop battery status is also returning to incorrect levels, this is a serious bug and needs to be fixed. I had something very similar if not the ame happen in ubuntu a few releases back, and it destroyed 2 batteries.

Ditto, running Mint 19 on a MacAir battery shows fully charged at 82%
