Same result after two attempts to install LinuxMint 16 Cinnamon 32 bit. The "integrated bug reporting tool" never appeared. The installation halted before completion, during the hardware configuration phase.
Since I've been installing LinuxMint on this laptop since ver. 12, I didn't expect the installer to crash when I tried to install ver. 16.
Considering the overwhelming number of replies I received in the forum, the forum is not the place to try to resolve installer crashes when the "integrated bug reporting tool" fails to launch.

I too have this problem with both LM16 mate and cinnamon 64-bit. Installer crashes out when it's scanning the cd-rom, which I do not have. The usb drive was made in YUMI so I'm trying Universal USB Installer now since it worked for someone else on the LM forums.
I haven't used linux for years and have been looking forward to using it again but so far this has been vaguely reminiscent of a 90s linux install. Anyways I'm going to keep trying until this works and decide from there but I wanted to chime in.
