Bug Description

Release: Linux Mint 15 "olivia"
Edition: Cinnamon 64-bit
Cinnamon version: 1.8.8

Cinnamon Applets that require running glib-compile-schemas /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas fail to properly install or update. Installing/updating them from the Applets program always results in message like this:
Details: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/tmp/tmpv7A5GK/metadata.json'
