Bug Description

When I close the lid on battery, the laptop should go into suspend mode (as indicated by the power settings), but closing the lid produces no effect. It always happens.

Linux Mint 15 Olivia Cinnamon 64bit

Same thing happens here, Linux Mint 15 Olivia Cinnamon 64bit, running on a Samsung series 9. Whenever I close the lid, no matter if the settings say suspend or hibernate, the thing obviously keeps running (hot) until the battery is drained.

Similar experience here... Lenovo ThinkPad T530 running Mint 15 64-bit w/ Cinnamon. Machine will no longer go to into suspend mode from anything - whether from closing lid or from Menu -> Quit -> Suspend.

It happens to me too.
But please note that in my case the Sleep from menu works!

Mint is apparently not detecting (?) the close lid event.
acpi_listen outputs nothing when I close the lid
(but neither when I go in suspend - be it with pm-suspend or kde menu sleep option (that also locks session, which is good)

dmesg also shows nothing on close lid, but it shows the
PM: Preparing system for mem sleep
[...]
PM: Finishing wakeup.
just fine

Please note that "When power button pressed" (KDE->System settings->Power Management->Energy Saving)
is also unmappable. That is is shuts down my laptop regadless of its setting from dropdown menu.

Mint 16 petra, x86_64, kde, lenovo edge 530.

please ask for more specific details.

PS this seems to be a different bug from the one reported, let me know if I should file another one (I try not to clobber the bug system)

PS2 - works pretty neat in rest - good job guys! :)

I have a similar problem with a thinkpad P52s. I played around with the power options, but it seems like whatever I do closing the lid wakes up the system and lets it run in the background, but not all the times. Happy to provide specific scenarios and logs if you tell me which ones you need (path).

Thank you very much.
