Bug Description

$ file linuxmint-14.1-mate-dvd-64bit/casper/initrd.lz linuxmint-14.1-mate-dvd-32bit/casper/initrd.lz
linuxmint-14.1-mate-dvd-64bit/casper/initrd.lz: gzip compressed data, from Unix, last modified: Tue Nov 27 09:05:41 2012, max compression
linuxmint-14.1-mate-dvd-32bit/casper/initrd.lz: gzip compressed data, from Unix, last modified: Tue Nov 27 09:10:38 2012, max compression

These initrd archives are apparently gzip-compressed, whereas the ".lz" suffix
suggests lzma or xz compression.

Should they not be named ".gz" instead?

Or was the wrong program used to compress them, by mistake?
