Bug Description

I installed Mint 14 Cinnamon 64bit in a setup with mdadm and LVM. I installed mdadm in the live system and assembled the raids before starting the installer in order to see the LVs on the md devices. The installation was performed with only one error, grub could not be installed. I chose to continue anyway and used the grub of my debian squeeze system.
However, the Mint system did not start, as Upstart hung (for details, see http://forum.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=117699&p=661143 ).
The problem seemed to be a fake start-stop-daemon and a fake initctl. I could solve it by reinstalling dpkg (replacing the start-stop-daemon) and upstart (replacing initctl). Now the system works fine.
