LMDE: Evolution 3.4.3 displays black-on-black subject lines under XFCE

Hello,

     After my last update, I am noticing that the color scheme is off in Evolution, it is displaying black text on black background in the header portion of the messages.

Tried resetting the GTK color scheme with:
http://www.fandigital.com/2012/06/change-theme-command-line-gnome.html
with no change.

Apparently this is mostly resolved in libgtk3 version 3.4.4:

My LMDE currently shows libgtk3 3.4.2-2 as the latest version, my /apt/sources.list is as follows:

After rebooting, then needing to update my proprietary AMD Radeon driver (due to running a new kernel), then switching to use GNOME Classic instead of XFCE, this now displays correctly.
