Bug Description

Mint 14 Mate x64. If I click on any icon in Mint Welcome window, which for example launches a web browser, Mint Welcome screen remains in foreground, can't be moved, and no response to "Close" button. Dragging any window over it causes Mint Welcome screen to be painted grey. Remains in this state until quitting the program that was launched by Mint Welcome, then can move or close the Mint Welcome window.

I have same problem except I can't move or remove the 'Welcome to Linux Mint' screen.

I had the same problem on Mint 14 Mate 32 bit.
It was a shockingly bad introduction to supposedly the friendliest Linux around.

Thanks to OP for pointing out the work around.

The same just happened to me, also on Mint 14 Mate 32 bit.
I come from Ubuntu and are giving a chance to Linux Mint, so I can confirm that it does gives the impression that Mint (with Mate) is not as stable/friendly as it is advertised...
