Bug Description

After clicking Install in Software Manager, the progress bar at the bottom will load as far as 16% and then appear to freeze. Once the download is complete, the progress bar will disappear. It's easy to assume the download failed, but checking your system, you find the software did load and install, this just wasn't shown in the Software Manager. You'd expect the progress bar to continue to increase with the percentage of the download that is finished, then to say "installing," and finally "finished installing," or something along those lines. I've had this problem occur on I think everything I've downloaded from Software Manager, about four or five programs.

I'm using Mint-13 (Maya) using Cinnamon on a 64-bit system.

Mint 13, Cinnamon 64bit: I am having the same issue. If I close the software manager and reopen it, then it will show me the new percent finished, but still not "refresh" after that point. I have to back out two pages and come back to the item installed (after the progress bar disappears) to show "uninstall" indicating that the program has installed correctly. Every program has done this, and they have all installed correctly. Occasionally when the software manager is running and I click the Menu launcher, everything blanks out from the taskbar breifly but always opens. These are minor issues that I would love to have fixed. I love the operating system, and the community, keep up the good work, everyone! Thanks, Moon.

Mint 13, Mate, 32 bit. Same problem here. I've re-installed Mint 13 a few times in the last day or so and in each case the system displays the behavior described this thread.

I'm just reporting in. I'm completely new to Linux and love Mint! Thank you to everyone who helps with this project.

Mint 13, XFCE RC and Mate. I've had this issue on both Mate and Xfce releases. The apps install fine just the progress bar stays at 16% until it finishes installing.

Same problem here, 2 Pc's and 1 Laptop with the same problem. What I do to see the progress of the download and installation of an application is: Close the Software Manager and then I re-open it, and the bar will show the progress, but will still freeze on the current percentage, so, you have to close and reopen as many times as you want to know what's the progress.

So far, this has been the only bug I've found on Mint Mate 1.4, everything else works extremely perfect!!!! Thanks to the Mint Community for such a good and fast system.

Got this bug on Mint 13 Cinnamon 64 bit.
Turn out if you close Software Manager, and opens it again, progress is now updated (but it will still not
update live with Software Manager open)
