mouse pointer dose not grab

  I am using mint 13 mate 1.2. 64 bit.
 mouse pointer will not grab selected window. I can
get it to work properly by pushing on the enter key for a
seconed.
 Ubuntu 12.04 has this problem. When I first installed
Mint it did do this. the problem started around June 25 2012.
 Mint 12 kde 32 bit was dream come true. I will be glade
when this mint will be just as good.
 I thing people new to linux should start off on mint 12 kde.
