Bug Description
1) Linux Mint 13, Mate desktop, Laptop
2) Play video with VLC in fullscreen.
3) After some timeout the screen fades to black.
4) The screen should not fade to black while playing a video in fullscreen.
5) Happened always

I'll confirm all of that. When showing all settings, the preferences in VLC are set, by default as far as I can tell, to "inhibit the power management daemon during playback", which seems like it ought to prevent this from happening. Inspiron 1420, Intel GM965 graphics, Mint 13 (Mate) 64-Bit.
