weather applet covered by mint update icon

Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon on an Acer Aspire One ZG5, 1.5GB RAM

Applets installing in the toolbar make extra spaces., except the weather applet. When installing, the weather applet signals its presence by flashing behind the System Update icon. System Update icon can not be moved to a new space, weather will not install anywhere else.

How did you install Linux Mint 13 Cinamon on Acer Aspire One ZG5 ? I cant install it.

I worked off a DVD and let the installer use all of the drive. This is an 8GB SSD. I did a fresh install. I had enough space to put all my usual choices on it, including Libre Office, although I did cut a lot of the dictionaries I wouldn't normally use. I keep all my data on an external SD card, and I use the left side expansion slot as the mount for the secondary drive. I tried to use the slot as expansion for the OS, but that didn't work out well.
