Bug Description

If you maximize any window vertically in Cinnamon and then close the application it should be shown vertically maximized when starting the application again. But in fact it is then maximized over the whole screen both vertically and horizontally.
This is annoying for applications that save their window geometry.

An example: If you have Opera only shown on 2/3 of the screen width and maximized horizontally and close it, you would not expect it covering the whole screen when starting Opera next time. But in Cinnamon it does.

Otherwise if you set Operas window to the same position and size, fitting 2/3 of the screen and filling it vertically not by using the "maximize vertically" command but by doing so with the mouse, it will always show up the same way...

It is Linux Mint 13 (Maya) 64bit with "Gnome 3.4.1" - but in fact it is the Cinnamon edition.
cinnamon --version says it is version 1.4.0
