Bug Description
Maybe nothing special, but it sounds not so good, so i post it quick for you:
LINUX MINT 13 RC MATE displays a Message about "Cannot write Bytes, Broken Pipe" or something like that whilst Shutdown on a Acer Aspire 8930
Status:
Fresh installed LINUX MINT 13 RC MATE from a MD5 checked Source and also did "check integrety of cd" and "ram" test successfuly
Computer is: Acer Aspire 8930 with Nvidia Geforce 9600m
Just made Menu Bar to the Top, some few changes that it looks more like the old shiki-wise theme, primitive login because your mdm doesn't lists user and i installed compiz and compiz fusion but it has problems with the rotating cube and thats it

I also have this bug. I upgraded to Mint 13 Mate via Mint Mate 13RC - just by using the update manager. To test this issue, I then did a new install of Mint 13 Mate iso and the broken pipe message still occurs.
My motherboard is a H55-USB3 Gigabyte with a first generation core i3 processor with 4GB of RAM.
I didn't get this same error in Ubuntu 12.04 (Unity) or Mint 12 with Cinnamon 1.4
