Bug Description

Sometime, if you want send to friend (by e-mail as exapmle) information how to find "your video from jamayca" in dc++ network most easy way to do that - send him TTH of file. but if you dont have option "calculate tth of file" you must find it in search window, do "copy magnet link of file" and crop tth from magnet.

so... that not comfortable.... isn't it? ;)

PS "download from magnet link" option is good idea too... Or if you have magnet you must send it in chat and after that click on it on chat and select download....

Not sure what you mean by having to find it in search window. Do you mean having to find it in File -> Open own list? You just browse your list and right click to copy magnet. I don't think we need to add an option to just copy TTH, your friend's client should be able to support magnets.

If you just want to calculate the TTH of a file, there's already a standalone program that does that called "tthsum".

As far as lackluster magnet support, please see bug #361735.

i often need calculate tth of file wich don't exist in my share (by restrictions on one hub from my hub list) but i have that file, tthsum is it console application? it's very uncomfortable, and i know, i can write script for nautilus, and got tth by rightclick on the file, BUT i think it's incorrect, because:

i think, if i want to work with dc++ network, better way if i got what i want uses 1 application. I mean if anybody whant use dc++, he install linuxdcpp and got pleasure. without writing scripts, or searching in repo other applications needed for use dc++, and without need to run console and etc... can i just click on button and got what i want?

and now.... bout magnet. in bug 361735, requesting console key for downloading magnet. it's don't what i mean. it's good .... for firefox integration (click on link on webpage and start downloading), but i think it's not so hard to add menuitem with that function.

PS Sorry for my english, talk on it very difficult for me.

I personally don't think it's anymore inconvenient to use a command line program than it is to use a dialog, but maybe that's just me. We won't be implementing this in LinuxDC++ directly, but maybe once we implement a plugin system (see bug #279503) this feature can be implemented as a plugin.
