Thank you for the report, but this is not a launchpad bug, re-assigning to Ubuntu.
We're interested in why you accidentally recorded this bug as occurring in Launchpad instead of Ubuntu. If you can explain what happened, please let us know in bug 88818.

Please give the result of:
apt-cache policy evolution

Can you try to obtain a backtrace:
sudo aptitude instal levolution-dbg gdb
and see here for backtrace https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace

Set to incomplete until we have a backtrace and more info.

whatever an user application is doing the system should not hang, that's either an xserver or linux bug

im unable to perform step 4 because the system has freeze
it occurs only when there is an incoming mail, today i upgraded to 2.6.26-7-generic kernel
but still it is only the 2.6.26-5-generic kernel that works

i also got the inbox and trashbox trashed today when i tried 2.6.26-7 kernel :(
i hope that i can fix them

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Now with the 2.6.26-12-generic kernel almost everything works exept that i have to logout before i shut down the computer.

Othervise it freezes, but if i turn off ACPI in grub i works

so still the only 100% vorking kernel is 2.6.26-5-generic

Hi, it's still a problem in 9.04, but now i've found a way to fix it by blacklist the system beep

so now it finally works perfect for me :)
