In Jaunty it still doesn't work... My laptop restarts when I'm trying to sleep its, and then hung. As I understand almost all latest LG laptops by the way which very popular in exUSSR countries, don't work normally with Ubuntu/Linux kernel.

PS: I tested not just with 2.6.28 kernel, but with 2.6.29 as well, and had the same result.

Here you can see it http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11255

Really I hope that you will help me, because without sleep laptop almost unusable, especially in my case.

Hi denisius.sion,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 275414

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

So, I still have this problem in Ubuntu 9.10 with kernel 2.6.31, as well as in ubuntu 8.04, 8.10, 9.04... Please just find a way how to fix it. just look http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11255 this link here created this bug post about this problem. I just want to say that LG laptops especially LG R700 quite popular in Ukraine, Russia and even in the Canada. So it would be fantastic if developers will found problem. In Windows sleep mode works correctly. From my part I.m ready to help with testing .. even if some hardware work will be needed - I have required qualification.
