Comment 145 for bug 1321623

Since this bug is marked Fix Released, is anyone tracking or working on this issue? Has it been reopened someplace else for the current version of Mint/MATE?

I am also still experiencing this under a fresh install of 18.2.

Local console lockups up. All video, including applications, window manager and system monitor freezes. Only exception mouse courser, but clicking, double clicking dragging etc. has no effect. Audio will continue playing for ~30 seconds. Unable to switch to CLI console [ctl+alt+F1].

I am able to log in remotely, via ssh, but nothing I have tried (killing all running applications, restarting various processes [X windows, MATE, etc.]) is able to restore functioning to the local consoles. I am able to issue shutdown and reboot commands that run nominally.
