Bug Description

The board still consumes as much power as running after a poweroff/halt/shutdown command.

Last output:
 * Will now halt
[ 1625.254364] System halted.

Power consumption:
Idle: 0.8A-0.9A
After system halt: 0.8A

wifi/eth leds are still on

I found following thread about the same issue: http://groups.google.com/group/pandaboard/browse_thread/thread/b69efbea6655a811

After I connected J6 PIN12 with GND as recommended by the user prpplague, the leds turned off and the power consumption went down to 20-30mA.

System information:
Pandaboard Rev A2, Ubuntu 11.04 Headless

Description: Ubuntu 11.04

Linux pandaboard 2.6.38-1208-omap4 #11-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT Fri Apr 15 16:34:35 UTC 2011 armv7l armv7l armv7l GNU/Linux

It looks like it's an hardware defect or board issue. We might not have any software workaround in kernel. So let me set this issue as invalidate.

Can confirm this issue with both my A1 and A2 boards.

As from prpplague's (bellow) email this seems this can be fixed by SW, I'm reopening the bug.

"3) complete power off is supported in the mainline kernel and also in the current L24.x omapzoom trees."

PandaBoard currently halts but it doesn't power off as apparently noone is telling the TWL6030 chip to power off. I'd also consider this a bug that should be fixed.
