Precise seed wasn't merged when the transition to Quantal happened.
ALIP is now based on LXDE and I refreshed linaro-meta packages to reflect the changes.
xorg package is now pulled so xinit should be there. I'm building a new ALIP images to verify.

what hardware pack was this tested on?

I tried this yesterday on rev A1 panda via HDMI to a 1920/1080 panel. booted to a text mode only console. Tried to start lxde by hand, it failed with no screens.

I used the current 2/27 hwpack for panda from snapshots, likewise the 2/27 alip image.

Thanks

None of current hwpack has HDMI working.
The fixed issue is about alip rootfs not properly generated and lacking several packages to get a working UI.

We still need to fix the hwpack^graphics drivers story which is a separate issue imo.
Something we'll certainly talk at Connect. See you in a few days ;)
