The latest fast_gup patches submitted by Steve Capper (developed against the 3.13 kernel) caused build failures when applied to the current staging 3.12 LNG kernels. The error code returned was cryptic and indicated a 'sub-make returned error 2' somewhere while attempting to generate a 'builtins.o' on some level.

Steve Capper has just submitted a newer series of fast_gup patches for RFC. These patches were done against the 3.14 kernel and I have not yet had a chance to try them against 3.12, but will get to that shortly.

Capper's latest patches appear to work okay with 3.12 linux-lng. However the upstream maintainers have now released an RT patch for the 3.14 kernel, so further work on 3.12 will be dropped.
