Bug Description
This bug is probably long over due.
The end user gnone-control-
1) Changing the alert sound, you never hear the alert sound
2) changing the destination for audio, never changes where the audio is supposed to go
3) audio input, I've never seen it work in "test" form as it should with this app.
This needs to be looked into. What's really going on here.

Please make sure this is indeed functional.
I'd like to have this included in the test matrix which dev platforms uses with their manual tests.
