Snowball doesn't boot in v3.9-rc3, both mainline, and linux-linaro

Snowball doesn't boot both in v3.9-rc3 mainline, and in v3.9-rc3 based linux-linaro tree. See the attached logs.

 Used u8500_defconfig in the both cases.

Be aware that those patches are likely to be re-written.

Most of the remaining mess will be cleaned up after the next merge
window - patches in -next.
