vexpress image creation fails with "fatal: cp15 insn"

This is similar to the qemu bug reported in Bug #694059, but upgrading qemu does not fix this problem with the versatile express.

Here is the command that fails:

./linaro-media-create --rootfs ext3 --mmc /dev/sdb --dev vexpress --binary ../images/linaro-natty-handset-plasma-tar-20110118-0.tar.gz --hwpack ../images/hwpack_linaro-vexpress_20110119-0_armel_supported.tar.gz

Failure:

Odd. What does
   qemu-arm-static -h | grep version

report as the version number? And what version of the qemu-kvm-extras-static package do you have installed?

Do those need to be 0.13.0 also?

Those are exactly the ones you need to upgrade. I don't know what other qemu you upgraded but you probably didn't have to :-)

Thanks Peter, that got me a rootfs and bootfs for the vexpress.

Just to answer your question, from bug #694059 I thought I only needed to upgrade qemu. So I had upgraded qemu (that is qemu-kvm) and it's dependency qemu-common.

I encountered other issues and I'll open new bugs for them, but I agree that this bug is invalid.
