Ethernet is unavailable on Origen Jelly Bean.

Is it just the android settings menu item missing? can you do netcfg and see the interface or bring it up?

Ethernet settings is missing from UI but trying it through netcfg works

 ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.8 netmask 255.255.255.0 up
 route add default gw 192.168.1.1 dev eth0
 setprop net.dns1 192.168.1.1
 setprop net.dns2 8.8.8.8
