Bug Description

I tried playing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtKuodANwe4 but there is no sound. This is not caused by the sound being muted within yt. Version used is 0.5.4.1 on Gentoo/Linux with USE="nsplugin rtmp sdl -profile -pulseaudio" - USE=sdl should result in cmake -DAUDIO_BACKEND="sdl".

The audio works for me with the pulseaudio backend. Can you verify that the sdl plugin has been build in /usr/lib/lightspark/plugins/ or the equivalent path for your distro?

If the plugin is not being built you should report the bug to the packager.

$ ll /usr/lib/lightspark/plugins

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 18672 Feb 25 04:59 liblightsparksdlplugin.so

Can I get a debug log to see what is going on, i.e. whether the sdl plugin reports issues?

Start the browser in a terminal, you should see some debug lines about the audio plugin being loaded.

Also check /etc/xdg/lightspark.conf to see that sdl is actually selected as the audio plugin

Thanks for the hint, lightspark.conf contained:
backend = pulseaudio

With that changed to backend=sdl sound works again.

Thanks!

Actually, could you set the backend in the default config to sdl if AUDIO_BACKEND does not contain pulseaudio?

I think you should ask such fine grained configuration to the packager, we only provide a reasonable default in the shipped conf file.
