Bug Description

I get a MODIFICATION_FAILED with the description TimeZone is invalid when accepting negotiations. The event is still added to the calendar I get this popup every time I accept an invitation.

Can you post such an invitation (I guess it is an email invitation), and can you post the log of what is sent to the server? Also, could you indicate which Exchange server version you are using?

I have attached a zip-file containing the debug log from when I accept an invitation and the email that contains the invitation. The exchange version seems to be Exchange 2007 SP1.

For the record, I'm seeing the same error response with Exchange Server 2010.

I get it even when I'm just creating my own meeting - I can upload a log if you wish.

You mean when creating your own meeting or when accepting your own meeting invitation?

Both, I think.

(Sorry - I realised shortly after that I hadn't been clear enough.)

If I recall correctly, the original meeting creation generated the
error, and then the email appeared in my TBird inbox as an "update to an
existing event", and doing an "accept" on that generated the error
again, and another meeting update, etc. etc.

I'll go away and reproduce it more precisely with a log capture and let
you know what happens when.

I also suffer the "if I accept another person's meeting request, it
creates a meeting with me as the Organizer" problem, but I notice
managing meeting responses isn't strictly supported at the moment.
[I did try modding the code to add an explicit Organizer, but EWS
rejected that too. I suspect the problem is related to the fact that my
exchange server also wasn't creating the meeting item (as you reported
for your test environment), so the 'accept' first tries to create a
*new* calendar item, which implies me as the organizer.]

Cheers,
Derek.

Hi,
I have exactly same problems with Derek. When I accept a meeting, it sends a new meeting request to the exactly same set of invitees. This is not only inconvenient but also shameful. Now I have to use owa to accept invitations.

Kind Regards

My memory didn't serve me well:-(

What happened when I just reproduced it was that my event (14th October)
was created OK, and the invite email(s) sent.

Because I only really invited myself, I received the invite, but it
appeared in my inbox as an update to an existing event (makes sense,
which sadly undermines the value of this test, I guess).

It's when I press the "Update" button that the error occurs - do you
still want a log uploaded?

(By the way, after the error, I get another invite for the meeting in
the inbox, but this time it has Accept/Decline/Tentative buttons,
whereas the first one only had an Update button.)

Cheers,
Derek.

I've decided to upload the log anyway.

This is running against an Exhange Server 2010.

(Names etc. have been changed in the log, because this is from my company's live Exchange Server)

Cheers,
Derek
