Bug Description
This problem occurs on both my ubuntu 12.04 LTS laptop and on my kubuntu 12.10 desktop.
When using a lightdm theme that uses a list of users to select from, occasionally all the users will disappear. By occasionally I mean approximately once a month. I haven't been able to dscern any action which causes this to happen. It's possible that this is not a lightdm bug but may reside in another component but I'm unable to tell that at this stage.
In my setup all users are held in an ldap database on a server, on the client machines I have sssd running. I have found that when this problem occurs that I can go to a console and run "sudo sss_cache -UG" and then perform logons for all users, again at the console. After doing this I restart the machine and all users appear again on the greeter. If I miss out any of the users when doing the logons then they do not appear on the greeter.
Because console logons work I don't think this is a sssd problem.
