Bug Description

Selected option to log in automatically during install. After reboot, login screen shows up with no password field. Have to click user name to get password prompt. After entering password, you are returned to the login screen. If you select XFCE session, login works. After logging out, you can then select Xubuntu session and login works. Subsequent logins work okay after rebooting.

Please do not use "ubiquity" projects for bugs. Only Districution Ubuntu & package "ubiquity".

Installed latest build using Testdrive and KVM and problem was reproduced. Installed a fresh copy manaully from the iso into Virtualbox and didn't have the issue.
Attached screenshot of what the login prompt looks like in the test using KVM.

Would you mind sending us some logs by opening a terminal and running "sudo apt-get install python-launchpadlib" then running "apport-collect 1059083"?

This bug report was filed as part of the Quantal testing. I don't even know if the problem still exists in Raring. I was going to try to do a fresh install of Raring to test that, but I won't be able to get to that until later this week.

What you can do is run "sudo apt-get install python-launchpadlib" then run "apport-cli -f -p ubiquity [after that you should substitute it for lightdm] --save bug.apport" in Quantal so it will save it for later submission, and in Raring if you see this issue you should report it with "apport-collect 1059083" and we can record it as affecting both versions.

Ran four tests tonight, all x86. See summary below:

1. Quantal, Testdrive, KVM - Presented with login prompt as noted in original bug report, however, was not even able to login. After entering password, it just brought me right back to login prompt.
2. Quantal, Virtualbox 4.2.12 - did not have problem.
3. Raring, Testdrive, KVM - did not have problem.
4. Raring, Virtualbox 4.2.12 - did not have problem.
