Bug Description

With the GTK2 greeter, if using a theme that is generally light but uses a dark menubar, like Manjaro's Menda[1], the GtkMenuBar widget on the right ends up dark, while the GtkLabel widgets on the left remain light.

We're currently considering to drop Gtk2 support for our next stable release (mostly because it complicates our code and most distributions have Gtk3 available), so I'm not sure if we're gonna fix this.

As a workaround, you could add some theming to the manjaro default theme to make the panel look consistent (the greeter's theme isn't something the users change very often, actually, so it's kinda up to distributors).

Can you test latest (from trunk - not stable 1.8.5) greeter version? There is no labels in panel in new versions, just one screen-wide menubar.

@Simon:
Although i understand how many would view it as becoming irrelevant, I hope you will consider keeping the GTK2 greeter.
On rolling releases like Arch/Manjaro, there aren't big release cycles where people have time to check things are working, new GTK3 versions largely just get dropped into the repo and everyone gets it, usually there's all kinds of breakage.

For example, GTK3.12 broke MDM. MDM users were unable to use it to log in (to some environments at least, such as Xfce) for some time before it was fixed. (Though i admit, MDM is not in the official Arch repos, your LightDM GTK greeters are - maybe it would get tested before hitting the stable repos)

On a rolling release, for something crucial to the boot process, i like to use stuff with stable toolkit API's.

@Andrew:
Oh wow. Sorry i didn't check current trunk, my bad.
Themes like that i described look fine on trunk! Thanks!
