various applet menus in MATE have bad theming

Bug Description
Bad theming gets applied to right-click menus of various applets on MATE 1.8. To reproduce just right click on any applet (time, mintmenu, window list, etc)

Thanks for the report. This is actually a long running issue that popped up in Ambiance & Gnome2 +Mate in Ubuntu 11.04 yes 2011 haha. I will have another look at what can be done. We are doing a flat Ambiance (to be released soon) and this issue is fixed because it does not use a background for the panel that is what causes this issue.
