Here are some thoughts as to how Libravatar could make use of the Creative Commons licenses.

- all images must be licensed so that they can be copied so we'll offer only Creative Commons when uploading or importing a photo

- same choosing interface as Mahara (see attached screenshot)

- upload_photo has optional query string param (e.g. license="cc-by-sa")

- checkbox on the upload photo page:

  [x] I release this image under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 [link to creative commons site] license (change this [link to /upload_license])

- photos get licensing info added to their EXIF/comment tags

- imported photos (i.e. Gravatar and Identica) need licensing checkbox too

- built-in gallery is licensed under the GPL (should this be the only exception to all CC images?)

- what should the default license be? cc-by-sa? cc-nd?
