Compile error "/usr/include/libmms/mms.h:79: error: expected ',' or '...' before 'this'"

libmms 0.4 gcc 4.1 ubuntu 7.1

I was trying to compile XBMC(for linux) and got the following compile errors:

/usr/local/include/libmms/mms.h:79: error: expected ‘,’ or ‘...’ before ‘this’
/usr/local/include/libmms/mms.h:81: error: expected ‘,’ or ‘...’ before ‘this’
/usr/local/include/libmms/mms.h:83: error: expected ‘,’ or ‘...’ before ‘this’

google also turned up an automated mailinglist entry at:
