Bug Description
The detection of libexpat is currently done manually in m4/libexpat.m4. The quick manual addition of -lexpat is problematic when libexpat.so is not in a standard location as it is also prepended before the other linker location flags. The best solution would be to just use pkg-config for expat with PKG_CHECK_MODULES when available.
