Bug Description

Lernid 0.6
Ubuntu 9.10

I don't see a notification icon for Lernid even though notifications for the beginning of a new session appear on time. I can say with certainty that at least one more person faces the same problem. (https://answers.launchpad.net/lernid/+question/102529). It would be nice if I could minimise the app to the tray when I press the close button instead of exiting it completely.

+1. As a matter of fact, whenever I start Lernid it always crashes, and I tended to figure it was the icon, since after retrying, the app usually starts alright, but fails to show an icon in the panel. However I may be wrong, for I usually get Apport showing up when notifications about Lernid events come out. Lernid would usually keep working, though. However, I couldn't report any of these bugs because it says Lernid is not (yet?) an Ubuntu package, or something along those lines.

I think Lernid officially makes it to repos with Lucid. Currently, all users use the PPA, if I'm not mistaken.

The application indicator depends on python-appindicators which is not in the Karmic repos. Is in available through a PPA[1] though. If python-appindicators are not installed it will not show an icon in the panel but the option in preferences is still present.

Changed in lernid:
status: New → Invalid

Opps, forgot to post the link to the PPA: https://launchpad.net/~indicator-applet-developers

Oh, that's why! I see now, thanks!
