Bug Description

This is causing a problem with all the spam. Maybe this should be limited to only voice or ops?

with the spam links if one is pasted into -classroom all the lernid viewers will open it up and automatically be instantly k-lined

Maybe make it work like the bots, where when you want a website to load, it has a protocol of [link] http://launchpad.net and then Lernid will open the pages

well a spammer could learn to do that. Best protection I can come up with is to have the speakers name in the /topic with something like "speaker: foo" then only open links said by foo

Another suggestion.....

Only +v/o can post links, AND it must be prefaced with [LINK] - as there are links that we don't really want opening, as we found out this morning with the User Day introduction... Lernid was going nuts...

good fix. It now only does slide and automatic links when the classroom is moderated.

If what Alan said is true, then that will have to change the way that the
classroom works.. Not all instructors set the classroom to moderated. So if
the classroom isn't set to moderated, the instructor can't make use of the
benefits of lernid? While it is a fix, I personally don't think it is ideal.

well it is just the slide flipping and browser launching that won't work when the classroom is open, you wouldn't want just anyone flipping slides for the class, or sending everyone off to a website. You can still have unmoderated time when everyone can talk in the classroom (worth pointing out at this point that Lernid has no UI for talking in the classroom). This still allows for multiple speakers and non-op speakers.

Right.. There needs to be some way to define who the speaker is.. That way
they can load pages even if the classroom isn't +m... And I have filed a bug
report about adding the ability to talk in #ubuntu-classroom if the
classroom is -m.. See bug #518222

A call [link] http://page or [link http://page] could solve the problem.
