Bug Description

Hi! I'm packaging this project for Arch Linux.

We're currently rebuilding everything for Python 3.11 and using nose for tests becomes worse and worse with every release of Python.

Please port tests to unittest or pytest and make a release, as I have reached the conclusion, that I can no longer run the tests (nose keeps failing on doctests and I refuse to spend more time fixing any of this as the project has been deprecated since 2016).

Thanks!

Hey David,
We have migrated away from Nose already almost two years ago.

I think you need a packaged version on PyPI, right?

I have just created a MP. As soon as I get a review, I will upload it.

Yes a release on pypi would be ideal. I don't know where else this project publishes tarballs otherwise (here?). Thanks for looking into this! :)
