Bug Description
I've noticed several users have accidentally changed the state of this Fix Released bug to Fix Committed (and then back again)

Looking at the bug, I notice that if you click on 'Fix Released', the popup places 'Fix Committed' right under the mouse. So my guess is that users came to the bug (it's a high visibility bug, linked to from slashdot and elsewhere), and for whatever reason were curious about the fix status so clicked on 'Fix Released', but when they saw the popup they realized it wasn't for whatever they had originally assumed it was for. But then, not knowing how to clear the popup, they clicked on it and the state changed. Immediately realizing their mistake, they changed it back.
Anyway, that's my guess.
I don't have any thoughts on how (or if) it should be fixed, but might be worth looking into as a usability issue.

The experience here could also be improved by fixing bug 561231.
