Bug Description

I'm getting a rejection email
Rejected:
dpkg-source failed for spyder_2.1.8-1ubuntu1.dsc [return: 9]
[dpkg-source output: dpkg-source: info: extracting spyder in spyder-2.1.8
  dpkg-source: info: unpacking spyder_2.1.8.orig.tar.gz
  dpkg-source: info: unpacking spyder_2.1.8-1ubuntu1.debian.tar.gz
  dpkg-source: info: applying 0001-fix-documentation-installation.patch
  dpkg-source: info: applying add_icon_for_unity.patch]

Howevr, the debdiff between the version in ubuntu (2.1.8-1) and my upload is pretty straightforward (see it attached).
I'm wondering if the quit generated patch containing "+\ Pas de fin de ligne à la fin du fichier" isn't the cause.

Attaching the debdiff.

The Lucidish dpkg that we use (see https://launchpad.net/~launchpad/+archive/ppa/+packages, https://launchpadlibrarian.net/67254702/dpkg_1.15.5.6ubuntu4_1.15.5.6ubuntu4.5%2Blaunchpad1.diff.gz is the diff from Ubuntu) does not like that patch at all:

wgrant@mawson:~$ dpkg-source -x spyder_2.1.8-1ubuntu1.dsc
dpkg-source: warning: extracting unsigned source package (spyder_2.1.8-1ubuntu1.dsc)
dpkg-source: info: extracting spyder in spyder-2.1.8
dpkg-source: info: unpacking spyder_2.1.8.orig.tar.gz
dpkg-source: info: unpacking spyder_2.1.8-1ubuntu1.debian.tar.gz
dpkg-source: info: applying 0001-fix-documentation-installation.patch
dpkg-source: info: applying add_icon_for_unity.patch
dpkg-source: error: expected [ +-] at start of line 10 of diff `spyder-2.1.8/debian/patches/add_icon_for_unity.patch'

Newer dpkgs seem to like it a bit more. You'll need to either reformat the patch to not be insane, or otherwise ask platform people to backport the relevant dpkg changes.
