impossible to search for "Klicken Sie \button" in Ubuntu Manual

It is impossible to work on translation by searching the manual's German translation for the above mentioned words "Klicken Sie \button". Although they definitely occur in the manual, the search comes up with 0 messages to match the filtering. It is possible to search for either "klicken Sie" or "\button", however, there are too many matches to make this a sensible choice. This applies for the ubuntu-manual lucid-e2 as well as maverick.

As this page tells me there is no such thing as an ubuntu-manual, this is where I found the bug:

Actually, it seems as if the bug/problem affects all search inputs where there is text before the command »\«. For instance, »to \seclink« does occur in the english part of the manual, but the search also comes up with »There are no messages that match this filtering. «
