Auto bug and branch linking doesn't always run when is should

When text is entered into places like bug comments or merge proposal descriptions etc, bug and branch references in the text are automatically linked. This occurs asynchronously on page load. The links are initially rendered as enabled and the asynchronous XHR call results in invalid ones being disabled. However, when a bug comment is first entered, the XHR call to check the links and disable invalid ones is not made, so any invalid links remain active (blue). There may be other places but entering a bug comment is hwere I first noticed the problem.
