Not all tagged bugs show up in when querying by tag

Today I was looking for bugs awaiting verification for SRU:

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bugs?field.tag=verification-needed

And noticed that one bug I had already dealt with was correctly tagged, but not listed:

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/digikam/+bug/73617

This makes it quite difficult to work through SRU verification.

This is not specific to tags. When viewing bugs for Ubuntu in general (not for a specific release), only the Ubuntu task is considered. If the Ubuntu task is Fix Released, the bug's open release tasks won't show up when viewing open Ubuntu bugs.

So, the bug in question has a "digikam (Ubuntu)" task with status "Fix Released" (which would be omitted from the query), and an Edgy task with status "Fix Committed" (which maybe should be included).

It does seem that the bug in question does turn up if we query for edgy bugs in particular though:

Can you give more recent examples?

I suspect that his is expected behaviour. If you're interested in bugs targeted to Edgy, you should look at /ubuntu/edgy/+bugs.

I'm not interested in just bugs in one release. I've current got installs of all supported Ubuntu releases that I could verify changes against.

Having https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bugs?field.tag=verification-needed not actually show all bugs with verification needed is not at all intuitive.

OK, you have a point. This has nothing to do with tags, though. That bug doesn't show up in https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bugs either. I'm afraid that this is too big of an issue to tackle at the moment. This is how Launchpad has worked since the beginning, and it's not easy to change it.
