Oldest of many series should not be on product page

When a product has more than about three series, it is interesting to see a couple of older series to get an idea of how rapid development is, but any more than that is irrelevant to most people. Older series should be hidden somehow, perhaps behind a disclosure triangle. (Suggested by Martin Pool)

Is it old series we want to hide, or unimportant series?

In the Bazaar case, this is pretty much the same thing right now but may change once they hit 1.0 (or 2.0) they may end up with a long lived series that is more important than some of the later development series.

Maybe having a way to mark a series as obsolete/abandoned, and then hide such series from the product page?

Milestones have an 'inactive' flag that can be set. It would be enough if we could set something similar on a series to hide it from the project main page. At least as an interim measure that would be very welcome.

But really Launchpad in principle has the information to do this more automatically: series can be sorted by activity (edits to the series itself, bugs targetted, releases.) Then you can just show the most active series.

This is really a pretty serious bug: on the Bazaar homepage in Launchpad, the most prominent release is 6 months old! That's not a good look.

It's even worse in the breadcrumb menus, where only the earliest X series are shown. All others are hidden behind a `Show all' link, but it's the wrong way around!
