Bug Description

Sometimes I get ec2 test failures like this:

WARNING: A test appears to be hung. There has been no output for 600 seconds.
Forcibly shutting down the test suite

This shouldn't happen.

I think Julian Edwards has seen this issue recently too.

I did, but only one in the last 5. Some people suggested that it's Windmill
mishehaving. (le horreur!)
