Which makes me think something is crawling into places it shouldn't be, or that the results like that need to be filtered out.

I do not think the bot is the problem. I think the rule of graceful degradation failed on a page. There may be content meant for ajax that looked like html. I suspect Lp put a post-like operation in a link and that violates the principles of HTML and HTTP
