This branch works locally for me with bzr-svn, so I don't understand why it wouldn't work for LP.

Launchpad is trying to mirror the branch as a bzr branch, rather than trying to import it as a svn branch. Marking this as a duplicate of the "Confusion between mirrors and imports" bug.
