Make reporters life easier when he is searching for an already reported bug

Imagine you want to report a bug against the product "vim". All vim-bugs are listed here:

https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/vim/+bugs

In the bugreport-side the reporter already entered the correct product (in this case 'vim'). Then the user clicks on the search-link to be sure the bug has not yet been reported.
It is obvious that launchpad should jump to the link above, but it jumps to the general bug-page.

I fail to understand what do you mean by bugreport-side.
In your use case, where exactly the user would enter the information to look for already reported bugs and then click on the search-link? Do you have an url?

No wonder you didn't understand me ;-) I meant "site", not "side"... Furthermore, I should have given you the URL:

The user knows the name of the package, so he selects the second option. In my great ASCII-art it looks like this:

O I don't know
* vim_____________ (Choose...)

Now he wants to search for this bug in the database, so he clicks on the link in this sentence: "Before reporting a bug, please ensure it hasn’t been reported already."
It should bring him here, but it doesn't.

Given what you said, I think this is a dupe of bug 3620.

What do you say?

If not a dupe it is his cousin :-) Perhaps you could close this bug and paste my "good" explanation as a comment to bug 3620.
