I got this mail yesterday:

Launchpad encountered an error during the following operation: generating the diff for a merge proposal. The source branch has pending writes.

Apart from the problem being a bit strange -- that's bug 612171 I guess -- it's bad that I have no idea which mp this refers to.

I got that recently too. I don't think there's any point sending this

i'm going to say it actually is just a dupe. we can find or file a separate bug for the causes of the failure, but at the moment istm the worst thing is the spam.

I've unduped this because the lack of context is very clearly a different bug unless we stop mailing the user altogether, which in the absence of a different way to tell them something has gone wrong, would diminish their ability to be confident Launchpad has completed their request.
